Handball
San Jose Athletic Club has two four-wall handball courts available for its members.
American handball was originally brought to the United States in the 1880s by Irish immigrants. The Gaelic handball sport, with the ball hit against a wall, was played since the 15th century in Ireland and Scotland. References to games in which a ball is hit or thrown extend as far back as Homer.
